The Prelude Implicit is the fifteenth studio album by American progressive rock band Kansas, released in September 2016. It is their third studio album without founding member, lead vocalist and keyboardist Steve Walsh, who retired from the band in 2014 the other two being 1982's Vinyl Confessions and 1983's Drastic Measures. It is their first album with lead vocalist and keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist David Manion, and guitarist Zak Rizvi, who started as a co-producer and songwriter before. The new KANSAS album The Prelude Implicit available Sept. Kansas' previous album, Somewhere to Elsewhere , came out in 2000 and featured the original lineup from the '70s. The Prelude Implicit will be their 15th studio LP. Songs from the new album will make their live debut on the fall 2016 Leftoverture 40th anniversary tour. Current concert dates are listed below. Even with that 16 year gap, the legacy of the Progressive Rock team still somewhat remains in the jaded hearts of many fans of Classic Prog Rock. Known for their smashing hits Carry on Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind, Kansas helped kickstart the rise of Progressive Rock in the 1970's along with other stalwarts like King Crimson, Styx, and Pink Floyd. Nowadays, the band isn't so lucky. From Steve Walsh's departure, to lineup changes the band has been on hard times since the release of Somewhere to Elsewhere back
