Over the past two years Tom has spent countless hours recording for 'Iris' in his studio, on the road and in Los Angeles, where he recorded 'So Cold', together with Om'mas Keith of Sa-Ra. Tom Trago was born in Amsterdam on 28 January 1983. He grew up in an artistic household. During his teens, he entertained himself by listening to albums from his parents record collection and making his own radio shows. At the age of 15, he decided he would dedicate his life to music. On his 18th birthday, he received the gift of a piano from his mother. In the studio and behind the decks, Trago has a soft spot for funky, disco-flavored house. Almost all of his records to date have been released on Rush Hour, arguably the most significant house label in his home city of Amsterdam it was, after all, our favorite from last year. Iris is his second full-length, after 2009's Voyage Direct, and it shows staying loyal to his usual style while also toying with hints of hip-hop, soul and R&B.
